Capture Your Freedom

FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT FOUR FREEDOMS PARK

Marla Mossman, Photographer and Founder of The Peace Caravan Project    Freedom of Worship Cube: top 4 photographs

Four Freedoms Park Conservancy is delighted to present Capture Your Freedom, the first public, onsite exhibition at Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park. The exhibition is the culmination of the Conservancy's call for photos, inviting photographers from around the world to submit their photos inspired by the four freedoms: freedom of speech & expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.
The resulting images, more than 90 in total, are displayed on four large-scale cubes, corresponding to each of the freedoms. The work on view explores human rights in an era of hyper connectivity, fracturing borders, and disintegrating trust in democracy. Featuring images from around the world, these photos convey freedom in flux, the chaos and intimacy of progress and decline, and the power of resistance.
The exhibition is free and open to the public.

As the tidal waves crests on the shores of nations, deep below the surface, massive tectonic plates are on a collision course to upheave the continents. Moving at a much faster pace, liberal democratic and autocratic governmental systems are crashing together to form a new world order. As recent elections around the world indicate there is a groundswell of support for authoritarian populists.
